DAVID NEWMAN TO RELEASE FIFTH ALBUM WITH NUTONE MUSIC
(Los Angeles, CA) –Chant Artist and sacred musician David Newman will release his fifth studio album Love, Peace, Chant, his first since joining NuTone on September 30th. Newman’s music embodies a distinctive uniqueness that includes a poetic intimacy and deep respect for India's ancient chant tradition.
Love, Peace, Chant is emotionally evocative with intimate sacred songs and hypnotic trance jams. “Shiva Om” settles into the warmth of meditative reflection with the ancient Indian sounds of the tabla and sarod, while “Love, Peace and Freedom” emanates with an exalted mélange of deep earthy rhythms and elevating lyrics. “Mata Bhavani” showcases David’s unique ability to blend the classic sounds of the acoustic guitar with traditional Indian instruments and Sanskrit mantra lyrics.
His unique sound has been captured on his CDs: Soul Freedom, Lotus Feet: A Kirtan Revolution, Leap of Grace: The Hanuman Chalisa and the CD/DVD set Into the Bliss.
David’s kirtans are joyous, ecstatic, and exploding with energy, and he has been called “... a rising star in the international subgenre of chant artist or mantric musician” by NPR's - All Things Considered,
David continues to travel extensively throughout North America, Europe and Asia singing kirtan and leading his workshops on the healing power of sound and the devotional and meditative aspects of the yoga path.
